How to maintain that Friday motivation & finish the week strong.
You have a great work week and it's suddenly your favourite day. There are plenty of ways that we can maintain the motivation, here are our tops tips:
FINISH UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Projects that haven't been signed off? Still need to follow up from that email from Tuesday morning? Finish the week strong by wrapping up any unfinished jobs- This will make you feel more satisfied entering the weekend. Find the motivation for that last minute PUSH.
START THE DAY WITH GRATITUDE
When we start the day with a grateful heart we feel much better about what lies ahead. Be thankful for the wins of the week and the lows- what has the past week taught you, what can you do better/differently next week? Be grateful for the little things because often they bring about the most clarity and happiness.
MAKE YOUR MORNING AMBITIOUS
Now that you are settled with a coffee in hand, start the day strong by writing down the goals of the day. This list does not need to be extensive- keep it short and sweet. Planning is critical on a Friday morning. We recommend getting the team together for a good 'idea generation' session. This is also a nice opportunity to ask how everyone is feeling.
MAKE YOUR AFTERNOON EASY
You have had a strong morning and now the afternoon slump has hit- do not fear! Peel yourself from your desk and get some steps in. We find that afternoon power walks boost our ideas and creativity. Try and get the easiest tasks out of the way, follow up calls, data entry, research. Do not give up, you are NEARLY there. Get the kettle on, take breaks, go easy on yourself- you are human, not a robot.
START SOMETHING NEW
Start something new on a Friday? You may be thinking, eh no thanks. Trust us when we say, don't leave that large project until Monday. You will actually feel more motivated if you chip away at it on a Friday, start generating ideas. Making effort to get a head start pays off, it can save you hours of work later- take it in bitesize chunks. Daunting deadlines no more.
REWARD YOURSELF
Ahhhh, you have conquered another work week! Reward systems are amazing for productivity- We often visit our favourite Sushi restaurant on a Friday. Cross off those tasks and feel good about yourself, that's what it's all about.
Happy Weekend!
